Job DescriptionPosition Summary:
The Commercial Truck Alignment & Front-End Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining steering, suspension, and alignment systems on medium- and heavy-duty trucks. This role ensures vehicles operate safely, correctly, and meet manufacturer and DOT standards. The position requires technical expertise, precision, and a strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
- Perform alignments on Class 4–8 trucks using laser and computer-based alignment systems.
- Diagnose and repair steering, suspension, and front-end components including kingpins, tie rods, drag links, ball joints, bushings, shocks, and springs.
- Inspect vehicles for wear, damage, and safety issues; provide accurate recommendations for repair.
- Perform road tests before and after repairs to ensure proper handling and alignment.
- Maintain detailed service records and communicate findings clearly with service advisors and customers.
- Follow all safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and company policies.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and alignment racks in proper working condition.
- Assist with related mechanical repairs as needed (brakes, hubs, wheel-end components, etc.).
- 2+ years of experience in commercial truck front-end or suspension repair (preferred).
- Strong understanding of heavy-duty steering and suspension systems.
- Experience with alignment equipment for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical issues efficiently and accurately.
- Valid driver’s license; CDL a plus.
- Ability to lift to 75 lbs and work in a shop environment.
