Temp position as Financial Controller Country:
Norway Financial Controller, 1 year temporary position

About the role

Do you enjoy combining accounting with financial control, problem-solving and business partnering? In this 1-year temporary position, you will work with a broad range of IFRS and financial control topics. You will also work closely with the team members responsible for the Bank's funding activities, including hedge accounting, derivatives and other financial instruments. Together with colleagues and key stakeholders across the Bank, you will contribute to robust financial reporting and the sound implementation of accounting and control requirements.

You will gain exposure to IFRS assessments, financial instruments, projects, process improvements and opportunities to use automation and AI to strengthen quality and efficiency. If you are motivated by varied accounting questions, continuous learning and making a visible contribution, this could be the role for you. You will be part of a team of ten professionals based in Oslo, responsible for ensuring accurate and timely representation of the Bank's financial performance in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and accounting standards.

The team defines statutory reporting requirements and accounting treatment, and acts as a subject matter expert function for accounting, financial and internal control matters across the Bank.

What you will do
  • Contribute to accounting assessments, documentation and controls across a range of IFRS and financial control topics.
  • Perform selected month-end activities, account reconciliations, accounting monitoring and other financial control tasks.
  • Work closely with colleagues responsible for funding activities, hedge accounting, derivatives and other financial instruments, and support related assessments and controls.
  • Contribute to the quality assurance of annual, monthly and quarterly reporting.
  • Support projects and ad hoc matters where FQ&A is involved as an accounting and financial control expert function.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the Bank to understand accounting and control implications of new or changed products, processes and solutions.
  • Improve processes through standardization, stronger data quality, automation and AI-supported tools where relevant.
Who we are looking for

You are comfortable working independently while also seeking input and collaborating when needed. You take responsibility for your tasks, are eager to learn and contribute positively to a strong professional environment.

You are motivated by a role with broad exposure, changing priorities and a combination of IFRS, financial control and process improvement.

You are curious about how technology, automation and AI can be used to simplify processes, improve quality and free up time for more value-adding analysis and decision support.

Required experience and skills
  • Relevant experience from accounting, auditing, financial control or a similar finance role.
  • Good understanding of accounting and IFRS, or strong motivation to deepen your IFRS expertise.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize and adapt to changing tasks and team priorities.
