Job OverviewWe’re looking for a versatile online written content editor & coordinator with copy editing experience to help shape, refine, and publish engaging digital content across our client and city-focused lifestyle, entertainment, and event websites.
You’ll be responsible for editing, coordinating and contributing to the content that brings our local communities to life online including event listings, feature stories, blog posts, and other sponsored content. You’ll report directly to the Digital Content Manager and collaborate with contributors and sales staff to ensure that every piece of content reflects each city site’s brand voice, meets quality standards, and connects readers to what’s happening in their city.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Edit and curate submitted event content, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with established website event submission rules and editorial standards.
- Edit, review and format for SEO city site and client site content, correcting spelling, grammar and language, and checking for consistency, relevance, and fact‑checking information for accuracy - all following our internal writers guidelines and SEO best practices.
- Write and update short articles, blog posts, and event spotlights as needed.
- Upload and manage website content using Word Press — including tagging, categorizing, and strategically adding internal links for SEO and user experience.
- Collaborate with the Website Content Manager to maintain editorial calendars and prioritize publishing schedules.
- Support light reporting and analytics
, tracking content performance and engagement metrics to inform future improvements. - Maintain quality control across multiple local websites, ensuring links, images, and formatting are correct and current.
- Participate in brainstorms and contribute ideas for local storytelling, event coverage, and digital features.
- Strong editing, fact‑checking and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail and flow.
- 1–3 years of experience in digital media, online publishing, journalism, or marketing communications.
- Experience using content management systems (Word Press or similar).
- Excellent written communication skills and the ability to adapt tone for different audiences.
- Organized and able to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Comfort working independently in a remote setting while collaborating with a creative, cross‑functional team.
- Experience managing local event listings or lifestyle content.
- Familiarity with SEO fundamentals, internal linking strategies, and metadata tagging.
- Basic image editing (Canva, Photoshop) or formatting for web.
- Experience and/or comfort using digital tools (Google Workspace, Click Up, Slack, LLMs, Ahrefs, etc.).
- Understanding of LLMs.
- A love of local culture, events, and community‑driven storytelling.
You’ll play a key role in connecting readers with the best of their communities and events, people, and stories that make each city unique. This is a great opportunity for a detail oriented editor and self‑starter to grow into a full‑time editor and content coordinator role.
