Overview

Physician leader of a provider group whose job is to assure that the clinic achieves its goals in the areas of clinical quality and access, financial performance, and patient satisfaction, and to assure the success, satisfaction and performance of the providers at the clinic. Collaborates with the Clinic Manager and Director of Practice Operations to provide reliable and responsive support of the clinical practice for the benefit of patients and the sustainability of the practice.

SKILLS:

M.D./D.O. Board-eligible or certified with State of New Mexico Medical License. Completion of residency program in specialty. Two or more years of practice experience preferred. One or more years of leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Participates in implementation of standard clinical and service action plans over a single site/department to ensure clinical outcomes are achieved.
  • Creates an environment that motivates providers to provide excellent care and service to patients in order to enhance patient experience.
  • Addresses patient complaints of a single site/department in coordination with clinic manager.
  • Participates in the recruitment, retention and replacement of providers using the Hire Right Bundle and Employee Retention Bundle.
  • Ensures provider engagement by removing barriers within a single site/department and fostering an environment that allows providers to focus on practicing quality medicine. Celebrates provider/team successes through recognition systems.
  • Provides timely effective feedback and completes annual performance review for providers in clinic. Takes corrective action when warranted with accountability and authority.
  • Participates in discussions, action planning, and monitoring of provider productivity.
  • Participates in Leadership Development Institutes, Physician Leadership Academies, PMG Lead Physician meetings and other operational meetings and activities as appropriate for specific role.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, literature review, in-services and workshops.
