School Overview

The Academy for Technology and the Classics is a grades 7-12 public charter school in Santa Fe, New Mexico serving approximately 400 students. This position is a full‑time Education Assistant position in our Student Support Services Department.

• Collaborates with Special Education teachers to schedule and implement student support services.
• Works with students individually and in small groups to reinforce material introduced by classroom teachers.
• Collects, prepares and arranges resource material.
• Maintains classroom records, prepares reports, scores tests, and manages supplies and classroom equipment as needed.
• Serves as a model in developing students’ language and behavior.
• Monitors testing or make-up work by students.
• Monitors student activities in classrooms, school grounds, hallways, lunchrooms, field trips, bus loading areas, etc.
• Other duties as assigned, including occasional substitute teaching if need arises.

• Candidates must have at minimum a high school diploma or GED and be at least 18 years of age.
• Candidates must have or be able to obtain an initial Educational Assistant license, Level 3 EA license preferred. Please visit NMPED Licensure for more on state license requirements.
• Leading candidates will demonstrate proficiency in the social‑emotional dimensions of teaching. ATC understands that building effective relationships and rapport is the cornerstone to creating rigorous classroom and school environments that promote intellectual risk for all students and staff.

• Salary Range is $17.08 - $23.90 per hour ($25,000-$35,000 annually) depending upon experience and qualifications.
