Water Operator (all levels welcome to apply!) - Eldorado, NM
Base pay range: $46,800.00/yr – $61,360.00/yr.
As a Water Operator, based in Eldorado, NM, you’ll join a collaborative team ensuring that our clients can deliver their services – uninterrupted. You’ll perform a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of a water treatment and distribution system. You’ll contribute to the success of our program with efficient preventive maintenance, establishing and maintaining effective sample procedures of plant operations and effluent, and providing effective solutions to complex challenges that may arise.
You’ll diagnose operating problems, make process control adjustments, direct and perform necessary corrective action. You’ll also prepare reports, collect samples, perform laboratory testing, determine proper chemical flow rates, maintain shift logs and perform other duties as required. Most importantly, you’ll take action to ensure the safety, health and well‑being of you and your team.
• Execute preventive maintenance on plant equipment.
• Monitor sample procedures and plant operations.
• Diagnose and correct operating problems.
• Prepare reports and maintain shift logs.
- Current State of New Mexico Operator License (levels 1, 2, or
3). - 1+ year experience operating a water and/or wastewater treatment facility.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of engine, pump, valve, motor operation and general maintenance.
- Knowledge of biological and chemical sewage analyses and treatment processes.
- Computer software proficiency (Microsoft Office, data management systems, plant PLC/SCADA).
Physical Requirements
Safety is a core value s position will require passing a Fitness for Duty test and performing safety‑sensitive labor. Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and operating equipment in indoor/outdoor environments with noise, machinery, high‑pressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, etc. Appropriate safety equipment will be mandatory.
