Job Description
Westwind Helicopters is seeking a highly qualified Chief Inspector and Quality Assurance person to support our maintenance operations and ensure the highest standards of airworthiness, safety, and regulatory compliance. This role is critical in maintaining conformity with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) requirements, and company policies.
Responsibilities- Conduct detailed inspections of aircraft, engines, components, and related systems in accordance with FAA regulations, OEM specifications, and Westwind Helicopters’ maintenance programs.
- Verify that all maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alterations are properly documented and conform to approved data.
- Review maintenance records, work orders, and logbooks for accuracy and completeness prior to aircraft return to service.
- Perform receiving inspections on parts, materials, and tooling to ensure compliance with quality standards and traceability requirements.
- Oversee and audit maintenance processes at field bases to confirm adherence to established procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Administer historical records of all aircraft, engines, and accessories operated by Westwind.
- Administer weight and balance records and maintenance records.
- Support internal and external audits, including FAA and customer inspections.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of FAA regulations, technical data, and company manuals.
- Promote continuous improvement and a culture of quality and safety throughout maintenance operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate (required).
- Minimum of 10 years of aircraft maintenance experience, with at least 5 years in a Quality Control or Inspection role (rotorcraft experience preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of FAA regulations (14 CFR Part 43, 65, 91, 135, and 145 as applicable).
- Demonstrated proficiency in reviewing and interpreting technical data, maintenance manuals, and regulatory guidance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in accordance with regulatory and company standards.
- Proficiency with computer-based maintenance tracking systems and technical recordkeeping.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Inspection Authorization (IA) Certificate.
- Experience with rotor-wing aircraft maintenance programs.
- Previous experience in a Part 135 or Part 145 environment.
