Presbyterian is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will ensure the successful transmission of images to PACS while scheduling ultrasound cases to align with other patient exams. Educating patients about procedures, answering their questions, and documenting vital information such as blood pressure readings and post‑procedure follow‑ups will be key aspects of your responsibilities.
You'll manage records using Radiology Information Systems
and other hospital tools as needed.
This position involves assisting physicians with procedures like needle biopsies, amniocentesis, and renal biopsies by scanning patients, marking body areas, determining angles for punctures, and maintaining sterile techniques. You will adhere to radiology and ultrasound policies, ensuring compliance with quality assurance, safety, and infection control standards. Additionally, you'll position and transfer patients, maintain department equipment, and order or stock supplies as needed.
Your role will include attending staff meetings, participating in in‑services and workshops for professional development, and taking calls for ultrasound procedures. You will also oversee and evaluate student ultrasound technologists, contributing to the growth of the next generation of healthcare professionals.

This position is eligible for the Northern New Mexico differential of $4.00 per hour. (This differential may be adjusted or discontinued based on business requirements.)
AdditionalJob Description
- Associates Degree in related health science or graduate of an accredited program preferred in related field.
- Competence in the specialty area(s) to be performed.
- New Mexico Sonography License required.
- Sonographer certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and/or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) required.
- Must have one (1) of the following qualified modalities as an initial licensure:
- Diagnostic Sonography:
- Abdomen (AB)
- Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN)
- Breast (BR)
- Pediatric Sonography (PS)
- ARRT (S)
- Vascular Sonography:
- Registered Vascular Technology (RVT)
- Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS)

- Cardiac Sonography:
- Adult Echocardiography (AE)
- Pediatric Echocardiography (PE)
- Diagnostic Sonography:
- Current BLS required.

SummaryPerforms diagnostic ultrasound exams for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending provider. The activities are performed consistent with their education and training, and in accordance with facility policies and procedures and applicable professional standards. Takes call as required.
Performs and credentialed in one (1) Sonography based modality as the initial hire and (0) additional secondary modality within the imaging department.
