Human Resources Generalist
Provide advanced human resource services to employees and management of the Aging and Long-Term Services Department. Process and oversee classified/exempt personnel transactions, hires, promotions, transfers, terminations, onboarding, reclassifications, compensation and classification reviews, disciplinary actions, investigations, orientations, payroll, time & labor, and labor relations. Provide advanced level guidance regarding FMLA, FLSA, policies/procedures, rules, regulations, and guidelines.
Pay RangeBase pay: $55,273.00/yr - $82,909.00/yr ($26.57 - $39.86 Hourly; $55,273 - $82,909 Annually). This position is a Pay Band C7. Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two weeks of the closing date. This posting may be used to fill multiple positions.
Responsibilities- Personnel/Position oversight:
Provides advanced level guidance and recommendations to assigned divisions and/or bureaus by reviewing and evaluating documentation for all personnel and position action requests. - Recruitment:
Advertise and hire for vacant positions; notify employees, management, other agencies, and the public of job vacancies within the Department. Review and prepare lists for the interview process. Work with assigned divisions to hire, transfer, or promote candidates. Assist assigned divisions with tracking of employee evaluations. - Payroll:
Provide payroll information to employees and management to assist with rule and policy interpretation. Provide technical assistance with entered time, callback/standby, overtime, compensatory time, and exceptions in the People Soft HCM module. Audit entered and approved time. Process all payroll requests, including manual warrants, one-time deductions, and terminal leave payouts.
Advanced level experience in human resource operations, recruitment, selection, payroll oversight, compensation and benefits administration, and experience utilizing People Soft software.
Bachelor’s Degree in any field and one (1) year of experience in human resource operations, recruitment, selection, payroll, compensation and benefits administration, labor relations, investigations, HR-related training experience, and/or occupational analysis. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling five (5) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment RequirementsMust possess a valid New Mexico driver’s license. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico, or must pass and receive certification within 90 days of employment.
Working ConditionsWork is performed in an office setting with extensive computer and telephone use. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Statewide travel might be required.
