Lead Data Analyst

Join the New Mexico Department of Health as a Lead Data Analyst and help strengthen enterprise reporting through advanced Power BI dashboards, reliable data pipelines, and stakeholder-ready analytics. This onsite role in Santa Fe, NM supports program teams with accurate, actionable insights and continuous improvement of reporting operations.

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of advanced Power BI reports and dashboards for program stakeholders.
• Run stakeholder meetings to gather requirements, align to program goals, and translate analytical needs into reporting solutions.
• Build, optimize, and document data pipelines
  , including automation of extraction, transformation, and refresh within the Power BI Service
  .
• Maintain data quality, integrity, and reliability through validation, troubleshooting, and iterative improvements to data processes.
• Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities that improve decision-making.
• Collaborate with IT, data governance, and program teams to support alignment on data sources, standards, and reporting best practices.
• Monitor and manage Power BI Service workloads
  , data refresh schedules, dataset performance, and workspace configurations.
• Create repeatable processes
  , templates, and documentation to improve scalability, maintainability, and knowledge sharing within the Enterprise Reporting Unit.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field, with nine (9) years of experience directly related to the position at time of posting, or experience in development, implementation, and management of accountability systems, performance measures, data collection, analysis, statistical research, and/or advanced statistical work.
• Alternately, an education and experience combination totaling thirteen (13) years may substitute for the required education and experience (based on a related field and/or direct experience in the occupation).

• Salary: USD 40 - 64 per hourly
• This is a bargaining unit position covered by a collective bargaining agreement. All terms and conditions of the agreement apply and must be adhered to.
