Position: Water Treatment Operator (Level 3) - 23430

Overview

We are seeking a Water Treatment Operator for a contract-to-direct assignment in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The selected candidate will perform a variety of tasks in the operations and maintenance of a water production and distribution system on an assigned shift.

Hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

This position has a pay rate of $29.14/hr

This position requires a New Mexico Level 3 Water Certification

Responsibilities
  • Operates, maintains and performs minor repairs on water production, treatment and distribution systems
  • Installs operates and repairs water distribution and collection systems including mains, service lines, fire hydrants, water valves, PRV’s and water meters
  • Reads and monitors gauges, meters and control panels
  • Starts and stops equipment and operates valves to route and control flow
  • Makes process control adjustments, determines and sets proper chemical dosage and flow rates
  • Operation of instrumentation and controls and SCADA
  • Diagnoses operating problems and performs necessary corrective action during work shift
  • Inspects equipment, oversees maintenance and initiates needed repairs
  • Complies and reports non-compliance with Project Policies and Procedures
  • Makes operating decisions in absence of supervisory personnel
  • Prepares required reports and maintains complete record keeping procedures
  • Participate in, and assist with, the training of Operators
  • Conducts meetings and training sessions pertaining to safety, process control, etc.
  • Maintains shift log and records meter and gauge readings
  • Collects samples and performs routine laboratory tests and analyses
  • Performs routine maintenance functions and custodial duties
  • Ability and willingness to work on-call shifts, as requested, including being fit and able to respond to call-ins in a timely manner
  • Performs other duties as required
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A valid Drivers License
  • A valid New Mexico Level 3 Water Certification
  • 1+ years’ experience in operating water / wastewater treatment plants
