Overview
We are seeking a Water Treatment Operator for a contract-to-direct assignment in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The selected candidate will perform a variety of tasks in the operations and maintenance of a water production and distribution system on an assigned shift.
Hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
This position has a pay rate of $29.14/hr
This position requires a New Mexico Level 3 Water Certification
Responsibilities- Operates, maintains and performs minor repairs on water production, treatment and distribution systems
- Installs operates and repairs water distribution and collection systems including mains, service lines, fire hydrants, water valves, PRV’s and water meters
- Reads and monitors gauges, meters and control panels
- Starts and stops equipment and operates valves to route and control flow
- Makes process control adjustments, determines and sets proper chemical dosage and flow rates
- Operation of instrumentation and controls and SCADA
- Diagnoses operating problems and performs necessary corrective action during work shift
- Inspects equipment, oversees maintenance and initiates needed repairs
- Complies and reports non-compliance with Project Policies and Procedures
- Makes operating decisions in absence of supervisory personnel
- Prepares required reports and maintains complete record keeping procedures
- Participate in, and assist with, the training of Operators
- Conducts meetings and training sessions pertaining to safety, process control, etc.
- Maintains shift log and records meter and gauge readings
- Collects samples and performs routine laboratory tests and analyses
- Performs routine maintenance functions and custodial duties
- Ability and willingness to work on-call shifts, as requested, including being fit and able to respond to call-ins in a timely manner
- Performs other duties as required
- High School Diploma or GED
- A valid Drivers License
- A valid New Mexico Level 3 Water Certification
- 1+ years’ experience in operating water / wastewater treatment plants
