Correctional Officer Cadet
Opportunity to serve as a trainee Correctional Officer with the New Mexico Corrections Department.
Responsibilities- Attend and successfully complete the NMCD Training Academy within 12 months of hire.
- Participate in field training and apply correctional facility policies and procedures.
- Maintain safety and security standards while supervising inmates.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- U.S. Citizen, 18 years or older.
- Valid New Mexico Driver’s License.
- Pass background, psychological, physical, and aptitude examinations.
- Good moral character, no felony convictions.
- Full‑time, pay band C3, base pay $18.15–$27.23/hr.
- May work odd hours, overtime, holidays, and weekends.
- Safety‑sensitive position; subject to random testing.
Adult prison environment with daily inmate contact; requires willingness to work in a correctional facility.
