Maintains and repairs facilities, grounds, and properties throughout Santa Fe County in accordance with established policies and procedures. Ensures proper care and follows safety protocols in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.

  • Performs minor electrical and plumbing repairs; performs welding on equipment, buildings, and bridges; cleans, preps, and paints housing units; installs drainage culverts; forms and pours cement; constructs fences; performs masonry repairs; landscaping; snow removal; installs glass; interior remodeling; tile setting; surface painting; signage; sprinkler systems; lock repairs; operates equipment; boiler maintenance; carpentry; refrigeration checks; appliance cleaning; gas meter reading; guardrail and concrete structure installation;

    pavement repairs.
  • Orders supplies; issues tools and equipment; maintains and repairs power tools, pumps, and motors.
  • Follows safety protocols; reports safety, security, and operational issues; maintains repair documentation; assists with special events and projects; performs security checks.
  • For Property Control and Building Services: Evaluates maintenance needs; performs repairs and construction tasks; maintains HVAC and automated systems; manages supplies; maintains landscaping and snow removal; performs security checks.
  • For Open Space and Trails: Maintains open space, parks, trails; performs construction and repairs; manages native plants; maintains landscaping and snow removal; reports safety and operational issues; documents repair work.
  • Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of painting, carpentry, grading, blueprint reading, tool operation, welding, basic math, electrical repairs; ability to operate equipment and tools; effective communication; analytical skills; ability to follow instructions.
  • Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent; OSHA and CPR certifications required.
  • Work involves outdoor and indoor environments; exposure to hazards; physical ability to lift up to 100 lbs; work may include shift and weekend hours.
  • Conditions of employment include physical, background, and certification requirements, including a valid NM driver’s license.
