About you and this role:

Dow has an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Leader located at Houston, TX OR South Charleston, WV.

New License Sales
  • Develops and leads the preparation of response to Invitation to Bid (ITB), working closely with Commercial Managers, the Licensing Manager, the Technical Delivery Team in UT, and, when needed, the Dow Team. Provide technical and design expertise, supports sales‑related disclosures, and contributes to activities aimed at securing new licenses.
  • Develops and coordinates the technical and operational sections of license agreements and/or Technical Appendices, ensuring accuracy and alignment with licensing objectives.
  • Support the evaluation of client warranty requirements in relation to process and product performance. Provides guidance to the Licensing Manager on the potential risks and benefits associated with proposed licensing terms or warranties.
Implementation of Licensee Projects
  • Establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships with design and project teams within UT and at assigned licensee organizations.
  • Manage the delivery of technical data and documentation for assigned new projects. Responsibilities include responding to licensee inquiries on ITB response, technical proposals, and/or technical appendices; participating in design review meetings with Licensee &/or engineering contractors; supporting training sessions; supporting the delivery of operating procedures; and overseeing all aspects of design and development activities, including warranty specifications.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison between assigned licensees and the licensing design team, ensuring licensee needs are effectively represented within Univation.
  • Coordinate technical support from UT and Dow to ensure appropriate resources are allocated for the design, development, and execution of the technology delivery process.
  • Contribute technical insights to the Regional Client Team throughout the project phases.
Complementary Products and Services
  • Prepare the technical aspects of proposals, and take an active role- whether initiating, participating, or leading‑in the delivery of complementary products and services to licensees. These may include training programs, technology software, technical support and improvement services, and optional new technology packages.
Business and Functional Excellence
  • Lead or contribute to work process improvement initiatives or business interface projects as required. This may include developing or updating standard sales disclosure or contract materials, representing Licensing Design & Engineering in the Licensing Information Flow process, enhancing technical deliverables (eg., documenting new operations technology for the Technology Manual), and participating in Technology Improvement projects.
  • Remain vigilant for opportunities to gather competitive intelligence and share relevant insights with appropriate UT stakeholders, support competitive assessment efforts as required.
Required Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years design experience in the petrochemical Industry.
  • Role may require up to 10-15% travel (Domestic & International).
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience with UNIPOLTM and/or High‑Pressure LDPE/EVA processes.
