In keeping with the Marian Medical Center healthcare philosophy, the Ultrasound Technologist/Sonographer performs ultrasound procedures at a technically proficient level. The technologist instructs the patient, operates ultrasound equipment, and determines the technical factors for ultrasound procedures. They ensure correct marking and labeling of images, provide and confirm proper documentation of procedures to assist in diagnosis. They are technically proficient in a variety of ultrasound procedures and are able to train staff members to perform procedures requiring independent judgement.
The position requires ingenuity and initiative for the diagnosis and therapy of disease.
Minimum Qualifications
- Technical School Graduation from an accredited school of Ultrasound and 2-5 years experience performing Ultrasound procedures.
- 2 years high-risk/level II OB Ultrasound including Fetal Echo.
- Experienced with US guided invasive fetal procedures including amniocentesis and CVS.
- Basic Life Support – CPR (must be from the American Heart Association) within 30 days.
- Registered Cardiac Electronupon hire or
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist upon hire or
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer CCI upon hire or
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer upon hire or
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Abdomen upon hire or
- Registered Technologist Computed Tomography upon hire or
- Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT upon hire or
- Registered Vascular Specialist upon hire or
- Registered Vascular Technologist upon hire
- Experience with AIUM certification process
