Position: School-Based LVN 1:1 Student Support Near Orcutt, CA

Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) for a full-time, school-based position with a district near the Orcutt, CA area. This role is ideal for nurses who are comfortable providing individualized student care in a structured educational setting and collaborating closely with school-based support teams.

Position Details:
  • Location: Santa Maria, CA
  • Start Date: January 13, 2026
  • End Date: June 9, 2026
  • Schedule: Full-Time | 32.5 hours per week
  • Daily

    Schedule:

    7 hours per day with a 30-minute unpaid lunch
  • Setting: Onsite Only
  • Pay Rate: TBD (Based on Experience)
Caseload Overview:
  • Provide 1:1 nursing support for an 8th-grade male student
  • Student presents with a complex eating disorder and emotional disorder
  • May assist as part of an LVN pool when primary student is absent or during urgent district needs
  • Collaborate with school nurses, administrators, and support staff to ensure student safety and well-being
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct 1:1 nursing care in accordance with physician orders and district protocols
  • Monitor student health status and respond appropriately to medical and emotional needs
  • Support feeding plans, health monitoring, and emotional regulation as required
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services, observations, and interventions
  • Communicate regularly with school staff, families, and medical professionals as appropriate
  • Assist with campus-wide nursing needs when assigned
  • Ensure compliance with district, state, and healthcare regulations
Requirements:
  • Active California LVN License in good standing
  • Previous school-based or pediatric nursing experience preferred
  • Mental health experience is highly recommended
  • Strong communication, documentation, and crisis-response skills
  • Ability to work independently in a 1:1 setting while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
  • Must pass all required state and district background checks prior to start
