Position:
Spanish Teacher/Assistant Teacher

Our preschool seeks a Montessori Mandarin Teacher for our Mandarin Immersion Program. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a bilingual environment where students develop fluency and cultural appreciation through immersive, Montessori experiences.

Description

- Montessori training is NOT required for this position- scholarships available for those interested in pursuing AMS certification) Bachelor’s degree preferred (or AA degree or working toward BA), 6-12 units of early childhood education, Respect for children, Positive attitude, Enthusiasm, Teamwork, Commitment

Skills and Qualifications
  • Be knowledgeable of the philosophy of Montessori education.
  • Demonstrate strong cultural awareness and responsiveness, as well as experience supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Priority will be given to candidates with qualifications including:
    • Montessori Credential (3‑6) AMI, AMS, MACTE preferred.
    • Bachelor's Degree or advanced degree preferred.
    • Fluency in Spanish, with native or near-native proficiency.
    • Experience teaching Spanish to young children.
Teaching at our preschool
  • Implement a developmentally appropriate Children’s House program for children Ages 3-6 in collaboration with a lead or co‑teacher.
  • Have enthusiasm, flexibility, and a desire to collaborate with colleagues both on your team and across different classrooms.
  • Exhibit excellent communication with families to provide timely and appropriate feedback regarding student progress.
  • Possess a growth mindset when it comes to engaging with relevant and mission‑driven professional learning.
Responsibilities at our preschool
  • Performing various duties, including classroom coverage, lunch duty, etc.
  • Maintain aesthetically pleasing classroom space and common areas.
  • Attending faculty and team meetings where appropriate.
  • Participating in admissions programming as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
