Base pay range

$78,500.00/yr - $/yr

The Health Educator plays a pivotal role in the Pelvic Wellness Center within the Department of Urology, providing evidence-based, client-centered coaching to support patients in achieving their health and wellness goals. This position focuses on empowering patients through behavioral change, mobilizing personal strengths, and facilitating access to appropriate resources. While not involved in diagnosing or prescribing treatment, the Health Educator works collaboratively with the clinical team to ensure educational support aligns with each patient’s medical treatment plan.

This role is instrumental in fostering patient engagement, satisfaction, and sustainable lifestyle changes that promote overall well-being.

Responsibilities
  • Provide client-centered coaching and education to support health and wellness goals in collaboration with the clinical team.
  • Assist patients in behavioral change, resource navigation, and accessing appropriate services.
  • Maintain alignment with patient treatment plans and respect clinical boundaries (not diagnosing or prescribing).
Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree in health sciences, nutrition, psychology, kinesiology, public health, nursing, or a related field
  • Completion of a health coaching certification program and exam from the National Society of Health Coaches (NHSC) or NBHWC-approved training program
  • Effective, empathetic communication with patients and colleagues; ability to convey information across organizational levels
  • Ability to follow oral instructions accurately and work independently or as part of a team in a demanding environment
  • Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and make appropriate decisions for situations
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision
