Description
As a Cardiac Monitor (EKG) Technician in the Central Monitoring Unit at UCLA Health, you will play a vital role in supporting patient safety and clinical care. From the Central Monitor Station, you will provide continuous observation of patients’ cardiac rhythms and other critical vital signs, serving as a key partner to the care team.
In this role, you will:
- Monitor 5‑lead EKG, pulse oximetry, respiratory rate, and end‑tidal CO₂.
- Recognize and interpret arrhythmias, ST‑segment changes, and QT prolongation.
- Respond promptly to actionable alarms and communicate findings to nurses and physicians.
- Document patient activity, hand‑off reports, and census reconciliation.
- Ensure equipment functionality and elevate issues appropriately.

Salary: $26.57 – $35.02 Hourly
QualificationsWe’re seeking a highly‑skilled, self‑motivated EKG‑proficient healthcare professional with:
- Certification as an EKG Tech – preferred
- Associate degree or diploma – preferred
- Experience in 5‑lead EKG monitoring using Phillips® monitor – preferred
This position could have the potential to float between the UCLA Health Santa Monica Medical Center and the UCLA Health Ronald Regan Westwood Medical Center
