About The Department
The Cardiometabolic Care Sales Team is at the forefront of US sales efforts for Novo Nordisk’s cardiometabolic product portfolio, including therapies for diabetes, obesity, and reduction of major adverse cardiovascular events. The team aims to advance broad cardiometabolic disease management by bringing new therapies to market to improve patient outcomes. As a team member, you will connect therapies to new specialties, build cardiometabolic advocates, and apply learnings that impact local markets and the organization in a cross-collaborative way.
ThePosition
Consistently achieves goals and maximizes sales by executing local Sales and Marketing strategies to promote Novo Nordisk products to healthcare professionals (e.g., HCPs in HEP/GI) and key customers.
RelationshipsExternally, the Specialty Field Sales Representative maintains relationships with physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other key personnel in healthcare settings and major academic and large community health systems. The role assists target physicians with local clinical and educational initiatives by coordinating company resources to ensure an aligned approach to improve patient health. Internally, the Representative reports to the District Business Manager and interacts with other field-based employees to develop a coordinated understanding of customers and market dynamics.

- Develops and employs business and tailored account plans using available tools and resources to meet sales goals
- Collaborates with other representatives to leverage provider relationships and drive results across geography
- Executes sales strategies based on customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape
- Maintains activity records/reports with timely and accurate call data
- Understands clinical underpinnings of brand strategies and drives advocacy
- Demonstrates professionalism and customer focus with internal and external stakeholders
- Follows Novo Nordisk Way selling model, including pre-call planning, post-call analysis, uncovering needs, providing solutions, and gaining commitment
- Establishes alignment among targeted physicians for new products or programs to ensure early trial and utilization
- Generates advocacy by sharing approved clinical information with target physicians
- Identifies opportunities to challenge and educate HCPs in a respectful, value-adding way
- Uses understanding of practice guidelines and care models to engage HCPs in clinical conversations
- Manages samples and company property in compliance with policies
- Manages territory and marketing program budgets to support sales goals
- Demonstrates knowledge of diabetes treatment and comorbidities to engage in constructive dialogue
- Participates in product and disease state knowledge sharing during meetings, training, and events
Driver must maintain a valid driver’s license and be in good standing with motor vehicle records as required.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s or equivalent degree, and/or Pharm
D required - Minimum of six (2) years of pharmaceutical, medical, or healthcare experience
- Demonstrated leadership and decision-making ability
- Ability to navigate PA’s in a rapidly developing market
- Health Systems and/or Institutional Account experience preferred
- Clinical approach to selling and engaging customers
