The OpportunityDemand.io is a profitable, founder‑led consumer AI commerce player driving $1B+ in annual GMV. We are the team behind Simply Codes (the #1 AI‑powered savings tool) and Product.ai (emerging Axiomatic Intelligence shopping assistant).
Staff Product DesignerWe are seeking a Staff Product Designer to operate as a Principal Architect of our user experience. This is a high‑leverage position for a "Super IC" who operates as a strategic peer to the Founder. You will not iterate on legacy patterns; you will invent the foundational interaction language for the post‑search, AI‑native economy. We are pivoting from "Search" (Listing options) to "Adjudication" (Judging truth), and we need a designer to invent the interface for that shift.
WhatYou Will Build
You will not be polishing buttons. You will be architecting the strategic engines of the company.
- Architect the Conversational Operating System: Design the 0‑to‑1 interaction models for our Intelligence Engine (Product.ai). Solve the "Trust Problem":
How does a human interface with an AI that doesn’t just chat, but actively adjudicates product quality? - Define the "Glass Box" Interface: Reject "Black Box" AI. Design visual systems that expose the reasoning trace of the AI. Turn complex logic trails into intuitive, verifiable user experiences that build trust without overwhelming the user.
- Systematize the Design Physics: Move beyond ad‑hoc screens to build a Unified Design System that governs both human and AI execution. Define the constraints (physics) that allow our interfaces to scale across Web, Mobile, and Agentic surfaces.
- Execute High‑Fidelity Prototypes: Build high‑fidelity, interactive prototypes to validate complex state management and conversational flows before engineering writes a single line of code.
- You are a Logic‑First Thinker: View design as a high‑IQ discipline, not just decoration. Understand that "Beauty" is the result of maximum efficiency and zero friction. Debate business logic and growth strategy as fluently as typography.
- You have a Technical Core: Likely have an HCI degree or a technical background. Understand the constraints of the underlying technology (LLMs, Context Windows, Latency) and design with them, not against them.
- You are a "Super IC": Reject the "Director" path that leads to meetings and management. Stay hands‑on, producing world‑class output at high velocity. Architect who pours their own concrete.
- You are AI‑Native: Leverage AI tools to multiply output, focusing on high‑level architecture rather than pixel‑pushing.
- You have a "Paradigm Inventor" Portfolio: History of solving novel, ambiguous problems (0‑to‑1), not just incremental feature maintenance. Personal site signals uncompromising standards of craft.
- Base Salary: $250,000 – $375,000. Target the 80th+ percentile to attract 1‑of‑1 talent. Base covers life; equity builds freedom.
- Profit Participation (PIUs): Grant Profits Interest Units (PIUs), giving true ownership and a share of operating profit. Earn cash flow distributions as we grow, not just at a theoretical exit.
- Benefits: 100% premium coverage for you and your family, daily catered lunches, unlimited PTO expected to recharge.
We don't use cover letters or ATS keyword bots. Measure logic, not keywords.
The Process- The Input: Instead of scheduling a 30‑minute phone screen, answer 5 short questions via video (Async).
- The Context: High‑signal prompts test how you prioritize and compress complexity. No rehearsal required. Clear thinking over production value.
- The Trade: If your signal is clear, skip the generic recruiter screen and move straight to a peer‑level conversation with the team.
