YAU is a leading educational sports program across the country. We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic youth sports coach to join our team. As a coach, you will work with small groups of children across various ages, developing their skills, physical literacy, and teamwork abilities. We use positive reinforcement and a low child‑to‑coach ratio to help each child feel confident, regardless of age or skill level.

Responsibilities
  • Coach children in tennis, pickleball, golf, and flag football at local schools, parks, and camps, in classes, after school enrichment, birthday parties, and team training.
  • Develop and implement age‑appropriate, progressive curriculum that supports gross motor, physical literacy, and socialization skills.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment, ensuring all safety protocols and first‑aid requirements are met.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members, and build strong relationships.
  • Manage class schedules (typically Monday‑Friday, 2 pm–6 pm) and ensure punctuality and reliability for all sessions.
  • Attend and pass the required TB test and maintain CPR/First‑Aid certification.
  • Continuously learn and coach multiple sports: tennis, pickleball, golf, and flag football.
Qualifications
  • Passion for working with children and improving their physical literacy, gross motor skills, and socialization skills.
  • Strong sports background with general sports knowledge.
  • Reliable transportation (all programs run at local schools and parks).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must have at least 3–4 days of availability per week during the scheduled class times.
  • CPR/First‑Aid trained; TB test completed or completed within the first week of.
Compensation

Starting rate $21 per hour upon of the coach test. Higher rates up to $25 per hour will be reviewed in relation to experience. Pathways to higher coaching levels will be discussed within the first month of employment and based on performance.

Work Schedule

Part‑time. Class times typically fall between Monday‑Friday, 2 pm – 6 pm (based on location).
