PALS Santa Paula is looking for qualified candidates to fill the position of Direct Support Professional (DSP) in the field of Intellectual Disabilities. The DSP or "Job Coach" works directly with persons who may have one or more challenging developmental and/or trauma-related behaviors. PALS Santa Paula is an adult day program. The Job Coach picks up, one or more (up to three) persons in their own vehicle, or in a PALS van, each morning between 8-9 AM and drops them off between 2-3 pm, Monday thru Friday, providing them with six hours of supervision daily.

Supervising adults with disabilities can be a fun, enriching role for the right person. Participants attend PALS to be engaged, listened to, laughed with, and supported in becoming more independent in their daily lives. The successful candidate must be a good listener and be skilled at working in a team-oriented environment; good communication skills are a must, as is the ability and willingness to learn therapeutic strategies to improve the lives of persons with disabilities.
Routine data collection, and leading activities are a central facet of the job.
Experience is strongly preferred, however, PALS will consider persons with unrelated professional experience, as long as the candidate meets the above skills expectations. PALS offers six (6) days of Paid Time Off/Vacation after one year of completion, health insurance, mileage reimbursement, and a profit-sharing 401k plan.
