EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Santa Rosa Junior College is currently accepting applications on a continuous basis to establish a pool for associate faculty assignments. Assignments may be temporary, part‑time and/or on‑call and may be immediate or as needed. The Sonoma County Junior College District does not offer ‘remote only’ assignments.
Compensation and Benefits- Assignments are made on a part‑time, hourly basis. The maximum part‑time faculty assignment may not exceed 67% of an annual full‑time assignment.

Please see hourly salary schedules or contact Human Resources for more information. - Salary placement is based on academic background, vocational experience, and teaching experience (depending on discipline) and as documented in application materials. Initial step placement will be at Step 1 pending evaluation of experience as outlined in the AFA Contract Article 27.
- Compensation for assigned classes is paid over the duration of the assignment.
- The District offers medical insurance for those who meet eligibility requirements.
- Associate faculty accrue sick leave on a pro‑rated basis.
- Retirement options include CalSTRS Defined Benefit, CalSTRS Cash Balance, and Social Security.
- Provide excellent instruction and faculty support to students, which may include evening, weekend, online or hybrid and/or off‑campus assignments.
- Provide academic assistance and related services to students during scheduled office hours.
- Demonstrate sensitivity and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
- Maintain currency in the field(s) of expertise.
- Focus primarily on instruction and/or student services.
- Participate in committee work, evaluations, student learning outcomes assessment, and hiring committees as requested for additional compensation.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Business Education, Marketing, Public Administration, or Finance; OR Bachelor’s degree in any of the previous areas AND Master’s degree in Economics, Accountancy, Taxation, or Law; OR the equivalent; OR a fully satisfied California Community College Instructor’s Credential in Business and Industrial Management.
- Demonstrated commitment to valuing and promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti‑racism.
- Creative and innovative approaches to teaching.
- Depth of post‑secondary teaching experience with community college students.
- Experience in developing online courses with a focus on student learning.
- Integration of technology and soft skills in curriculum.
- Ability to teach a variety of business courses as demonstrated by professional experience or prior teaching experience.
- Recent and relevant employment in both business and/or education.
Applications will remain in queue until a need arises, up to one year. Selected candidates will be invited to interview. Candidates not given an immediate assignment will remain in pool for four years.

- Contact information for three professional references, including one current or former supervisor.
- Brief cover letter.
- Current resume.
- Written response to diversity prompt (200—500 words) with examples in curriculum, learning activities, teaching practices, etc.
- Copies of transcripts of all college‑level coursework, stating that the Degree(s) has been conferred.
- If transcripts are from outside the U.S., a formal evaluation by an accredited credential evaluation service.
- If not meeting minimum qualifications, complete and attach Faculty Equivalency Application and supporting documents.
- If applicable, copy of California Community College Credential (both sides).
- Provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Complete background check including Live Scan and TB screening.
- Be willing to work on‑site as determined by the department.
