about the positions

we are currently seeking engineers to work collaboratively with our talented, interdisciplinary team to strategically execute a broad array of engineering efforts from planning concept to notice of completion.

with a goal for sustainable infrastructure, associate civil engineers and assistant engineers in the capital projects engineering (cpe) division perform a range of engineering tasks to design and construct public works, utilities, and related projects for a wide range of departments within the city of santa rosa. The cpe division includes engineers, engineering technicians, surveyors, and administrative support staff whose scope ultimately includes projects to rehabilitate, upgrade, and expand virtually all aspects of the city’s infrastructure — from transportation projects and bridge projects (including the 101 pedestrian overpass), to facilities projects (including interior remodels, emergency operation centers, fire stations, community centers), to creek restoration projects, to water and wastewater infrastructure projects, and everything in between.

the city is exploring and excited about design‑build project delivery as an alternative delivery strategy. Capital projects at the city of santa rosa are primarily funded through sewer and water rates, gas taxes, development fees, storm water utility revenue, and grants, as well as other transportation‑related federal, state, and local funding sources.

we have multiple vacant positions to be filled and aim to create a diverse engineering team to manage the upcoming project load. Appointment at the level of associate civil engineer or assistant engineer will depend on the level of your licensure.
