Essential Duties:This PRN Respiratory Therapist is responsible for patients with respiratory and related equipment. The therapist assesses patient needs, selects, instructs, and troubleshoots equipment or services, and maintains proper documentation.
Responsibilities:- Receives and documents orders for respiratory equipment or services from customers, patients, caregivers, physicians, or family members.
- Gathers additional information from insurance providers or physicians as needed.
- Assesses patient needs and determines the appropriate respiratory therapy or services.
- Provides instruction and education on the proper use and care of respiratory equipment, following company policies and procedures for patients, families, and caregivers.
- Communicates with physicians regarding changes in patient condition or needs and adjusts the Plan of Care accordingly.
- Completes patient documentation, including Plans of Care and assessments.
- Acts as a liaison between Super Care Health, patients, families, caregivers, and physicians.
- Maintains professionalism, skills, and a positive attitude in all actions.
- Follows all policies and procedures as outlined by JCAHO standards.
- Conducts follow-up visits to ensure continuity of care for respiratory patients, as per policy.
- Provides 24-hour on-call service as scheduled.
- Sets up respiratory equipment within the scheduled appointment or ETA to ensure patient satisfaction.
- Supports marketing and other departments as needed.
- Demonstrates timeliness, courtesy, sincerity, and patience with patients.
- Supports Super Care Health by being loyal and communicating concerns effectively.
- Adheres to all company policies.
- Remains knowledgeable about all products and updates.
- Maintains a professional, safe, and clean work environment.
Work Experience:
- Graduate from an accredited RT Care Program (licensed RCP).
- Experience as a PRN Respiratory Therapist.
- Thorough knowledge of respiratory care practices.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- People-sensitive with a genuine desire to help others.
- Detail-oriented.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of background checks, references, driving record (if applicable), pre-employment drug screening, and TB tests.
