Floating Receptionist (Medical Office Assistant)
Location:
Santa Rosa, CA. Full‑time Monday‑Friday, some Saturdays. 9 am‑5:30 pm. Pay $24‑$25 per hour. Travel to surrounding clinics less than 25% of time; paid travel time and mileage reimbursement.
- Routes examinee to exam room, vitals room and/or x‑ray room as needed.
- Reviews chart and verifies examinee information is available for examining physician.
- Prepares examinee for examination by performing and recording height and weight.
- When necessary, chaperones examinations with female examinees or as requested by physician.
- Responsible for set‑up, maintenance, and cleanliness of exam rooms. Reports any issues or maintenance needs to management.
- Maintains a smooth flow of examinations to ensure appointments are kept on schedule.
- Secures patient information and maintains confidentiality by completing and safeguarding medical records.
- Ensures all practices are carried out in accordance with state and federal safety and legal regulations.
- Performs clerical duties such as typing, filing, emailing, and proofreading as required.
- Promotes effective and efficient utilization of clinical resources and supplies.
- Participates in various educational and or training activities as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Reliable transportation for travel.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 1‑2 years on the job experience in a medical office or related field preferred.
- Adequate knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, medications, and laboratory values.
- Complete knowledge of general computer, fax, copier, scanner, and telephone.
- Knowledgeable of multiple software programs, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and the Internet.
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
