COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
  • Salary Range: $7,774.00 - $9,446.00 per month (25/26 Classified Salary Schedule);
    maximum initial placement at mid-range, which is $8,568 per month (placement within this range is based on assessment of previous experience as documented in application materials). An additional 2% compensation will be added to the base salary for an earned doctorate degree.

  • Leave/Holiday Time: Full‑time classified unit members earn 8 hours of sick leave and start off accruing hours of vacation for each month worked (accrual rate increases after first year of employment and rates are pro‑rated for part‑time employees). Employees are also compensated for holidays recognized by the District (18 holidays/year, pro‑rated for part‑time employees).
  • Retirement: Santa Rosa Junior College is a CalSTRS and CalPERS employer. Eligibility will be determined based on the regulations established by both agencies.
SCOPE OF POSITION:

Under general supervision, provides technical assistance, training, and instructional technology expertise to faculty and staff in the areas of instructional technology purchase and adoption, and instructional content accessibility. Assists faculty with the training and support of all District adopted instructional technologies and conducts research on emerging technologies. Consults with, trains, and assists faculty in the creation of accessibility‑compliant course materials. Ensures compliance with institutional, state, and federal accessibility guidelines.

This is a regular, full‑time (1.0 FTE), 12‑month, classified position. The tentative work schedule will be Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position is contingent upon funding and Board approval.

Examples of key duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature. Incumbents routinely perform approximately 80% of the duties below.

  • Develops instructional materials and provides training for faculty and staff on educational technologies integrated with the District’s learning management system.
  • Supports and troubleshoots issues with the District’s learning management system and other educational technologies.
  • Researches emerging instructional technologies and recommends their implementation in academic settings.
  • Reviews online course content for compliance with District, state, and federal accessibility laws and guidelines.
  • Provides technical assistance to faculty in creating and remediating course materials for accessibility compliance.
  • Collaborates with Information Technology (IT) and Distance Education (DE) teams to ensure seamless integration of instructional technologies and accessibility solutions.
  • Monitors and responds to support requests through the DE helpdesk, tracking issues and solutions to improve support services.
  • Supervises and organizes the work of student employees.
  • May serve as lead worker to short‑term, non‑continuing (STNC) staff.
KNOWLEDGE OF:
  • Applicable technology, modern educational technologies, accessibility compliance remediation tools, and standard Microsoft and Adobe productivity software.
  • Copyright regulations and best practices for digital education.
  • Relevant local, state, and federal rules and regulations, programs, policies and procedures; including accessibility compliance laws and guidelines.
