Job SummaryImproves the productivity, quality, and margins of the SMC Santa Rosa manufacturing facility through targeted implementation of automation, statistical process controls, product flow streamlining (lean manufacturing), and systems improvements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Monitors and maintains preventive maintenance program through IQMS.
- Performs and documents machine preventive maintenance.
- Maintains adequate stock of parts and supplies needed for PM’s.
- Defines and sources components and equipment for repairs.
- Uses hand and power tools in a safe manner.
- Works in accordance to internal and external safety standards.
- Conserves maintenance resources by using only what is needed at the time of need.
- Communicates with multiple departments in a professional manner.
- Fabricates components for repair and improvements.
- Adheres to standards and procedures of company and regulating bodies.
- Operates a personal computer, utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Minimum five years’ experience as a Maintenance Mechanic.
- Hydraulic and electrical proficiency.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Knowledgeable in differences of Metric vs Standard tools.
- Adaptable to changing directives on a day-to-day basis.
- Strong verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate with all levels of staff.
- Computer skills (Basic MS Outlook, Teams, MS Office) are important.
- Knowledge of electrical safety practices is a must.
- Knowledge of AS in electronics.
- Knowledge in ISO.
- Bilingual considered a plus, Spanish preferred.
- Bend, squat, climb, grasp, reach, lift or otherwise move about frequently and for extended periods of time.
- Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs. frequently, or more occasionally.
- Walk, stand or otherwise move about continuously.
- Exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards which may require respiratory protection.
- Typically sits, grasps items and performs keyboarding for occasional operation of a computer.

Hourly Range: $22 - $26/hr.
