Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine and emergency medical care for inmates, including chronic care clinics, infirmary rounds, and on‑site emergency treatment.
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures for medical care, including SOAP documentation, formulary regimens, and use of in‑house resources.
  • Assume responsibility and accountability for individual judgments and actions, and report concerns to the Medical Director or Health Services Administrator.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance with accepted practices for incarcerated individuals.
  • Provide input into facility‑mandatory committees as requested.
Additional Details

32 hours per week (Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri). Preference for schedule flexibility and readiness to cover emergencies.

Qualifications & Requirements Education
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Advanced degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
Experience
  • Prior medical/surgical and/or emergency/trauma experience; corrections experience preferred.
  • Patience and tact to work effectively with the inmate patient population.
  • Scheduling flexibility to rotate hours/shifts and be available during emergencies.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of employment.
  • Current CPR certification.
