The Operating Room Registered Nurse is responsible for providing safe, high-quality, and compassionate care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. The OR RN works closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a sterile, efficient, and patient-centered surgical environment.
Unit Requirement- Hard Stops:
Applicants need to have trauma, neuro, vascular and ortho experience due to trauma status. - may need to cover one night shift within their contract as needed.

- Yes, , call will be distributed equally amongst all nursing staff every 6 weeks. - This could be up to 6-8 shifts in a 6 week period (including nights, evenings and weekends/8 hrs).

- Prepare and assess patients prior to surgery, including reviewing medical history and verifying surgical consent.
- Set up, maintain, and monitor the sterile field and surgical equipment.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by anticipating needs and providing instruments and supplies.
- Safely administer medications and monitor patient response to anesthesia and surgical intervention.
- Maintain accurate surgical counts of instruments, sponges, and sharps to ensure patient safety.
- Monitor patient’s condition throughout the procedure and report any changes to the surgical team.
- Provide postoperative care, including assessment, pain management, and patient education.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care.
- Adhere to infection control standards and OR protocols to maintain sterile conditions.
- Document all nursing care in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
- Valid and current Registered Nurse (RN) License
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
- Minimum 1-3 year Operating Room experience preferred
- CNOR certification is an advantage.
