American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring at least 1 year of ED experience and an active CA RN license.
Details- General Emergency Department treating combined adult/pediatric patients
- Level II Trauma Center with 26 beds and approximately 120 visits
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
- Weekend shifts required as needed
- Cardiac monitoring and emergency response duties including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Epic EMR used
- Floating between sister facilities may be required
- Active CA RN license required at time of submission (pending license accepted)
- Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required, with recent Emergency Department experience
- Hospital experience required
- Level II Trauma Center experience required
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
- Epic charting experience required
- Skilled in isolation precautions/PPE, triage, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years, from a comparable specialty/setting
- Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population in a Level II Trauma Center setting
- Scrubs or business casual attire accepted
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests limited to no more than 7 days and must be submitted upfront
- First-time travelers welcome to apply if they have prior ED experience
- Candidates must disclose any previous employment history with Providence facilities, including location and dates
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Local candidates accepted, though a standard local radius rule of 50 miles applies for travel rate eligibility
