We are seeking an experienced RN Nurse Manager Surgery to provide leadership and oversight for surgical nursing operations. This position is responsible for creating and maintaining an optimal practice environment that supports high-quality patient care, effective teamwork, and positive patient outcomes.
The Nurse Manager will plan, direct, and manage nursing care for the designated surgical patient population while overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department. This role has accountability for clinical leadership, staffing, scheduling, fiscal management, planning, organization, and overall operational effectiveness.
The Nurse Manager serves as a role model for proactive and collaborative relationships across departments and works closely with interdisciplinary teams to promote safe, efficient, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and direction for nursing operations within the surgical department.
- Oversee the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, resource allocation, and daily department operations.
- Provide leadership for a 24-hour patient care environment.
- Support effective fiscal management and operational planning.
- Develop, implement, and maintain nursing programs, policies, procedures, and standards of care.
- Ensure patients' nursing care needs are appropriately assessed, evaluated, and addressed.
- Promote collaboration among nursing, surgical, medical, and other interdisciplinary teams.
- Foster a positive, professional, and supportive work environment.
- Support staff development, performance, engagement, and retention.
- Promote continuous improvement in patient care, safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with staff, physicians, leadership, and other members of the care team.
- Current California Registered Nurse (RN) License upon hire.
- National Provider BLS American Heart Association certification upon hire.
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Specialty certification relevant to the surgical/unit specialty.
- 5 years of clinical nursing experience.
- 2 years of nursing management or leadership experience.
The ideal candidate is an experienced nursing leader with strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively lead teams in a fast-paced surgical environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving, and leadership abilities while maintaining a consistent focus on patient safety and quality care.

- Specialty certification relevant to the surgical/unit specialty.

- 2 years of nursing management or leadership experience.
