Purpose
This position is responsible for the physical maintenance and care of restoration and conservation sites in rural and wildland environments. The role involves hands‑on fieldwork including vegetation management, invasive species removal, site preparation, and ongoing maintenance activities to support habitat restoration projects. Daily tasks include manual labor such as weed removal, brush clearing, and site improvements using hand tools and equipment.
This fieldwork is essential to maintaining healthy ecosystems and ensuring the success of conservation efforts on rural properties.
Essential duties and responsibilities, i.e. those which are basic, necessary, and an integral part of the job, are indicated below:
- Minimum 2 years' experience conducting habitat restoration projects, including implementation and maintenance activities

- Successful completion of a pre‑employment drug, alcohol, and background investigation
- Valid Driver's License
- Current on all company required safety training
- Ability to preserve confidential and proprietary information and successfully avoid conflicts‑of‑interest
- Knowledge of Standard Operating Policies and Procedures
- Ability to consistently appear for work on time
- Ability to work authorized overtime as required
- Valid CA driver's license and good driving record
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and supervise others
- Possess the strength and agility to perform maintenance work in an outdoor setting for long periods
- Possession of or ability to obtain Pesticide Applicator's Certificate within one year of hire
- General knowledge of local flora and weed species
- Automobile (truck), ATV, small tools and various equipment.
- Job sites include uneven ground, steep slopes, exposure to extreme temperature and/or humidity. Frequent bending and squatting throughout the day. Carrying loads of 30‑40 pounds for extended periods, with occasional lifting of heavy loads up to 90 pounds. Frequently works alone in remote areas. Works occasionally on projects requiring overtime and overnight stays.
$25.20 – $28.80
The range displayed reflects the range the company reasonably expects to pay for the position. The actual base salary is subject to variation due to the role, level, geographic location, relevant education, training, or experience, among other factors.
