STS Airport Incumbent Lead Transportation Security Officer

Base pay range: $35.00/hr - $52.00/hr

This position is for applicants from existing personnel performing Lead Transportation Security Officer services at Sonoma County Airport (STS).

• Lead Transportation Security Officers (TSOs) and distribute tasks among employees in accordance with established workflow and skill levels
• Identify and balance workloads, adjust workload priorities as needed
• Oversee passenger and baggage screening and respond to security-related incidents
• Operate screening equipment and communicate with travelers and stakeholders
• Direct the work of subordinates to ensure SOP requirements are met
• Provide input to the STSO concerning employee performance
• Perform the functions of an STSO in their absence on security-related issues
• Implement updated security screening procedures

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Level II certified Transportation Security Officer (TSO)
• U.S. Citizen or U.S. National
• At least 18 years of age
• High School Diploma or GED
• Pass a computerized assessment (grammar and ability to interpret X-rays)
• Pass a medical evaluation (vision, hearing, and joint mobility)
• Pass pre-employment drug test
• Pass a TSA background and financial records check
• Ability to work any day, any shift between 12:00 AM and 11:59 PM
• Ability to work independently with effective decision-making skills
• Ability to attain dual-function certification
