Service Station Technician

Stroupe Petroleum Maintenance, Inc. (SPMI) is a specialty contractor that has provided petroleum station service, maintenance, and testing to Northern California fuel providers for over 35 years. SPMI is seeking a motivated, mechanically inclined “jack of all trades” to join the team as a Service Station Technician in Santa Rosa. This is a full-time, entry-level trainee position - no prior experience is required, as SPMI offers paid training while candidates learn the trade, though related experience and certifications are a plus.

The role covers a large scope of work, making it a great fit for someone who enjoys variety and is looking to build a long-term career in a skilled trade.

To start, the schedule is Monday through Friday (hours vary, typically 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.), with pay on a bi-weekly basis. Starting pay ranges from $25 to $40 per hour depending on experience, and includes regular, overtime, and prevailing wage hourly rates. • Perform general mechanical, plumbing, and electrical service, maintenance, and repair work on petroleum station equipment
• Conduct testing of fuel storage tanks and dispensing systems in accordance with applicable regulations and standards
• Travel to customer sites throughout Northern California to complete scheduled service, maintenance, and testing work
• Operate and maintain Gilbarco and other fuel dispensing equipment
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues on-site
• Maintain accurate, detailed records of service calls, testing results, and completed work using Microsoft Office, Adobe PDF, and other business applications
• Support designated operator duties as required by site and regulatory requirements
• Prioritize and manage multiple service requests and job sites simultaneously, adapting quickly to changing situations
• Regular attendance and schedule adherence, including willingness to work overtime

• This is an entry-level, full-time trainee position; no prior experience is required, as paid, on-the-job training is provided.
• Previous mechanical, plumbing, or electrical experience is a plus.
• Desirable certifications include ICC, Tank Tester, 40-Hour HAZWOPER, Gilbarco Training, and Designated Operator (or willingness to obtain).
• To perform this job successfully, an individual must display proficiency in business computer applications, including Microsoft Office and Adobe PDF, with the ability to learn new computer applications quickly.
