Farm worker/Crop Laborer (Temporary)

Job Period: 02/05/26 – 11/30/26 (temporary, seasonal)
Position: 9 full‑time Farm Workers/Crop Laborers (temporary)
Wage: $17.84 per hour (biweekly pay)
Hours:
40 hours per week, Monday‑Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
- Prune trees using hand pruners and pneumatic tools
- Operate ladders up to 12 feet tall and handle a 40‑lb ladder safely
- Use an 8‑foot pole for pneumatic pruning while dragging an airline
- Stack tree limbs, plant trees, and shovel soil as required
- Apply fertilizer, pick up rocks, pull weeds, and irrigate crops
- Thin fruit from a ladder and harvest sweet and tart cherries, peaches, and apples
- Carry a picking bucket while picking fruit per supervisor instructions
- Drive harvesting equipment and work with farm machinery such as tractors
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions (10–100 °F, hot, dry, dusty, noisy, cold, wet, snowy)
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Maintain cleanliness of property, housing, and farm buildings
- Follow safety rules and instructions from supervisors
- Live and work singly or in small groups in isolated areas for extended periods
- Survive occasional exposure to hazards such as poisonous snakes
- Minimum 3 months of prior experience in apple, peach, or cherry orchards
- Ability to perform both manual and mechanized tasks efficiently and accurately
- Must be able to remain on feet in bent positions for long periods and perform repetitive movements
- Capable of working in temperatures ranging from 10 °F to 100 °F
- Trainer in USDA GAP certification standards required
- Willing and able to provide employment eligibility documentation (I‑9 verification)
- Transportation and daily subsistence support provided for 50% of the contract period with a maximum of $68 per day (receipts required)
- Resume required; up to two references if applicant has not worked in crop harvesting within the past 12 months
- Must be available for the entire required work period
- All tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform duties are provided at no cost to the worker
- All property, housing, and farm buildings must be kept clean and safe
- Absences or failure to perform required tasks will not be tolerated
- Workers are responsible for following all safety rules as instructed by the supervisor
- Workers must retain or adhere to applicable safety regulations as directed
- Employment is guaranteed for a total number of work days equal to at least ¾ of the total work period
- Should the worker complete 50% of the contract period, the employer will reimburse transportation costs and daily subsistence up to the stated limits
- Workers' compensation coverage is provided at no cost to the worker, equal to local laws for comparable employment
- Position is in connection with a future H‑2A labor certification application
