The X‑Ray Limited Scope & Medical Support Specialist performs routine x‑ray, medical, and testing procedures under the direct supervision of the treating clinician and supports in other areas of the facility as needed including registration and referral management. This position will also perform routine X‑ray examinations in accordance with Concentra policies, practices, and procedures and applicable regulations. This role requires efficient and accurate delivery of one‑on‑one patient care while thriving in a fast‑paced environment.

It also ensures that every patient receives quality clinical care and an excellent patient experience from welcoming, respectful, and skillful colleagues.

Responsibilities Radiologic Technologist Duties
  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures, escort to dressing and X‑ray rooms, provide verbal and/or written instructions, and assist in positioning.
  • Operate radiologic equipment to produce diagnostic images, set exposure time and distance per examination specifications, and take X‑rays following established requirements.
  • Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure safety of patients and team members.
  • Ensure radiologic equipment remains in working order and report malfunctions.
  • Maintain all X‑ray equipment, including calibration, QA/QC procedures, and record keeping.
  • Follow documentation procedures and submit required documentation related to patient X‑ray visits.
Medical Assistant Duties
  • Perform DOT and non‑DOT drug and alcohol testing.
  • Prepare patients for physical examinations, take vital signs, and administer ancillary testing such as vaccines, injections, phlebotomy, PFTs, audiogram and respirator fit testing.
  • Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.).
  • Assist providers during examination and treatment.
  • Perform routine medical procedures ordered by the clinician and triage emergent patients as needed.
  • Provide procedure set‑up and injury care, apply bandages, dressings and splints.
  • Dispense medications and DME in accordance with state regulations.
  • Complete quality assurance activities for equipment and medical devices.
  • Maintain supplies, clean rooms and equipment, and stock exam rooms.
  • Notify supervisor immediately if equipment is not functioning, supplies are needed, or operations are disrupted.
  • Assist with patient flow, volume, and communication of expected wait times during all aspects of the center visit.
  • Perform clerical tasks in both front and back office, ensuring accurate documentation and HIPAA compliance.
  • Attend staff meetings or huddles as required.
  • Assist in maintaining a neat, clean, and orderly facility appearance.
  • Complete any applicable training, including monthly clinical competency training.
Qualifications
  • Education Level: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology and hold applicable state certification.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and possess an active and valid certification.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification.
Job‑Related Experience
  • At least six months of medical assistant experience with knowledge of medical procedures and terminology.
  • Preferred working knowledge of occupational medicine requirements and prior experience in a medical office, healthcare, or customer service setting.
