Overview

YRD, LLC. is a consumer goods company that specializes in hardlines/durable goods marketed on home shopping television networks, large retail chains and e-commerce. Our product range spans multiple categories – garden, beauty, cleaning, kitchen, auto and more. We directly manage and handle the complete product life cycle from the initial design to prototyping through manufacturing. The ideal candidate will take responsibility for their own products and timelines associated with development.

We are seeking someone who designs and makes hard goods and has experience creating their own products. Web design experience is a plus but the role is not exclusively about websites.

• Identify a market need/problem and develop a product idea to solve it
• Perform market research to validate the problem and determine customer willingness to pay
• Design the product concept and assess feasibility
• Develop and create a minimum viable product (MVP) with enough functionality to meet customer needs
• Identify and reach out to manufacturers (primarily in China, the United States, and Mexico) to vet manufacturers and initiate cost negotiations
• Analyze manufacturing timelines and goals to ensure timely delivery
• Communicate effectively with manufacturers  engineers to monitor product completion, troubleshoot issues, and develop creative solutions to meet deadlines
• Create detailed documents communicating features and product status to stakeholders
• Ongoing product modifications and feedback to progress the product roadmap with new strategic goals

• 4+ years of experience as a Product Developer
• 4-year college degree (or equivalent experience)
• Excellent computer skills (Mac-based is a plus); ability to engage with any program/application
• Excellent writing and verbal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook

Job Type: This is a full-time, in-office position. Salary commensurate on experience. When applying for this position please provide a list of products you’ve prototyped and developed.
