Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger is responsible for bagging groceries at checkout for customers.Assist in removing customer's merchandise from the bottom of the shopping cart for checkout.Bag groceries efficiently, aiming for at least five items per bag, ensuring contents are not damaged.Follow best practices for bagging items in various types of bags (reusable, plastic, paper).Offer to help customers load bags into their cars.Perform basic shelf conditioning and restocking merchandise.Inform customers of grocery specials and promotions.Gather shopping carts and return them to designated areas.Maintain cleanliness by cleaning spills, collecting trash inside the store and parking lot, and cleaning all areas inside and outside the store.Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise as needed.Understand store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying management.Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs.Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers and answering questions about products.Follow all local, state, and federal laws, as well as company policies.Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.Manage conflicts in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner.Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.Qualifications
