Accounting Manager

Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with internal policies and external requirements. This role will manage union reporting and related compliance, support leadership with financial insights, and help strengthen accounting processes as the company grows.

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, general ledger, payroll coordination, and month-end close
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Manage union reporting requirements, including accurate and timely submission of union reports, fringe benefits, and related documentation
• Ensure compliance with union agreements, labor regulations, and reporting deadlines
• Coordinate payroll reporting related to union and non-union employees
• Reconcile accounts, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Support audits, including gathering documentation and working with external auditors
• Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Collaborate with operations and HR teams to ensure accurate labor and cost reporting
• Provide leadership, guidance, and support to accounting staff as needed

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
• 5+ years of accounting experience, including experience with union reporting or labor compliance
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Experience with payroll systems and union fringe benefit reporting
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage deadlines and work independently
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

• CPA or CMA designation
• Experience in construction, manufacturing, or another union-heavy industry
• Prior supervisory or management experience

Pay for the Accounting Manager is up to $115k/year based on experience.
