Lake Park and Rec Operator

This position is responsible for the maintenance of Sahoma and Pretty Water lake areas, as well as the operation of the Sahoma Lake Bait Shop and camping and RV parks.

• Possess the skill set to maintain, construct and/or repair various facilities within the Sahoma/Pretty Water Lake area.
• Operate various equipment to maintain the Sahoma/Pretty Water Lake area.
• Assist in setting up planned events in various Park facilities as needed.
• Assist the public and provide information to promote good public relations.
• Operate equipment, within scope of training and expertise, as needed to perform essential job duties.
• Handle all receipts for fishing/hunting permits, RV/camping permits, and Sahoma Bait Shop income. Prepare daily reports and prepare the deposits on a daily basis.
• Ability to take after-hour calls on a periodic basis - standby.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities. This is a field position which the employee is exposed to extreme temperatures, potential overgrown nature areas and uneven surfaces.

This position requires mowing, weed eating, bathroom cleaning or other lake facility repairs. Lifting up to 50 pounds is required.

This is a full-time position. Normal days and hours of work are Wednesday through Sunday, 6:00a to 2:30p, with lunch from 12:00p to 12:30p. This schedule may vary if necessary.

Limited travel is expected for this position.

• High school diploma and/or equivalent experience.
• One year of work experience, primarily in a manual labor environment.

• Two years’ equipment experience.
• Two years of related experience.
