Manager In Training Part - time

Summary

The Manager in Training is responsible for assisting the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager with overall operations and administrative duties. They are knowledgeable in every product area or department within the store and help determine the methods and approaches needed to accomplish the store’s goals and initiatives. The Manager upholds policies, procedures, and standards listed in the visual manual, fully promotes each sale and/or promotion, and serves as an ambassador of Hibbett I City Gear, creating a unique customer experience to acquire and retain long‑time customers.

Passionate about outstanding customer service and merchandising, the Manager assumes supervisory control in the Store Manager’s absence and is trained in the Manager’s responsibilities.

• Assist the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear.
• Consult with the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager to establish action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Assume responsibility for the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments when necessary.
• Maintain awareness of inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability.
• Direct staff to ensure departmental responsibilities and standards are completed.
• Keep the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
• Ensure quality customer service is maintained.
• Perform general administrative duties as needed and be trained in the Store Manager’s responsibilities.
• Deliver extraordinary customer service highlighted in the customer service manual, assisting customers as they enter the store and during peak periods.
• Promote and sell services and merchandise provided by Hibbett I City Gear.
• Practice and uphold all Hibbett I City Gear policies, procedures, and standards as listed in the operations, personnel, visual, and customer service manuals, and company memos.
• Protect company assets and financial information by ensuring accurate internal control procedures and reporting potential fraud risks to management or appropriate officials.

• Supervise employees in the absence of the Store Manager, following organizational policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, and resolving problems.

• Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1–3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits.
• Self‑starter with initiative to take on important tasks without being asked.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with precision.
• Team‑player who is passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.

Hourly: $9.00 – $11.70
