Parks & Recreation Management/Hospitality Instructor - Adjunct

Position Overview: Adjunct instructors are primarily responsible for instruction and classroom/student maintenance.

Requirements
  • 3-5+ years of professional experience
  • Master's Degree in Travel & Tourism, Parks & Recreation, or Hotel Management
  • PhD in Travel & Tourism, Parks & Recreation, or Hotel Management
Responsibilities
  • Attend weekly feedback meetings with assigned EU administrator (Dean of Academic Affairs, Academic Advisor, or Program Director)
  • Maintain accurate attendance records (daily and weekly)
  • Make phone calls to students who have been absent
  • Review and administer pre- and post-testing in courses
  • Administer surveys and assessments
  • Notify registrar of roster changes
  • Prevent unauthorized students from entering classes
  • Maintain a fair grading scheme for each student
  • Follow all University policies and regulations
  • Keep course syllabi neat, accurate, and organized
  • Update attendance and grades regularly; secure physical records on campus
  • Conduct classes as scheduled, avoiding early dismissals and excessive breaks
  • Arrive 20 minutes early prepared for each class
  • Be available 15 minutes before class for questions and advising
  • Submit grades by Monday 5pm EST after each term
  • Encourage student adherence to University policies
  • Participate in graduation ceremonies if possible
  • Maintain clean and orderly classrooms
  • Support students academically and motivate attendance
  • Keep current and accurate teaching materials
  • Complete annual professional development
  • Tutor students as needed
  • Abide by safety, health, and conduct laws and rules
