We are seeking a motivated Civil Project Engineer to play a key role in the planning, design, and execution of educational, sports, and other land/site development projects. The project engineer will work closely with civil engineering and architecture teams to support the development of municipal parks and recreation, K-12, higher education, professional athletic facilities, and other land/site development projects, ensuring designs are functional, sustainable, and safe.
YourResponsibilities
- Assist in Design:
Collaborate with civil and architectural teams on site plans, utilities, drainage, and grading solutions. - Site Evaluation:
Conduct site visits, prepare reports, and document conditions and challenges related to athletic, educational, and other land/site development projects. - CAD Drafting:
Work with CAD staff to modify and update drawings using AutoCAD or similar software, developing civil plans including sports fields, stormwater management, transportation access, and utilities. - Technical Support:
Prepare engineering calculations and specifications, including drainage, stormwater, water distribution, and sanitary sewer systems. - Collaboration:
Coordinate with engineers, architects, landscape architects, contractors, and stakeholders to align civil designs with architectural goals, especially for sports and educational facilities. - Sustainability:
Contribute to projects focused on environmentally responsible and energy-efficient facilities. - Regulatory Research:
Assist in researching relevant codes and regulations at various levels. - Documentation:
Prepare technical reports and presentation materials for review. - Project Support:
Assist with cost estimates, timelines, and task coordination. - Construction Administration:
Review submittals, answer RFIs, perform site observations, and assist with certifications and project close-out.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
- 2-5 years of experience in the A/E/C industry, with land/site development experience in Florida preferred but not required.
- Engineering Intern (EI) License required;
Florida PE exam passed preferred, with intent to obtain PE license. - Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and design software like Storm Wise, Storm
CAD, Water
CAD. - Strong skills in MS Office.
- Interest in designing athletic and educational facilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of land development codes, environmental regulations, and construction processes.
