Medical Equipment Technician; Sarasota, FL

OMI Med Tech is a subsidiary of Omega Medical Imaging and provides the highest quality medical equipment service options in healthcare facilities throughout the state of Florida. Specialized training in x-ray, anesthesia, or sterilizers is a plus.

• Perform scheduled maintenance and build a knowledge base of a variety of common medical devices (examples include infusion pumps, centrifuges, suction pumps, and patient support equipment).
• Provide services including electrical system checks, equipment tagging, incoming equipment inspections, installation, recall and alert activities, and calibration and repair of medical devices.
• Basic X-ray training and ability to perform PMs on basic X-ray systems is a plus.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or related field;
  United States Military Biomedical Equipment Service training; OR
• Technical certificate from an accredited institution for Biomedical Equipment Service, electronics, or related field
• One to three years of direct medical device service experience
• Valid Driver’s License
• Demonstrated ability to use hand tools commonly associated with the repair and maintenance of medical equipment
• Demonstrated ability to use test equipment, gauges and meters commonly associated with the service of medical equipment
• Demonstrated ability to read, understand and interpret technical documentation including wiring and equipment schematics
• Demonstrated basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications
• Demonstrated basic understanding of human anatomy and physiology and basic understanding of medical terminology

• Two years direct medical equipment service experience
• Basic X-Ray Training and/or Specialized Biomedical Equipment Service training on specific equipment (anesthesia, sterilizers, ultrasound, or X-ray)
• Be able to provide expert knowledge and skills on at least two specialized medical technology device types (e.g., networked physiological monitoring systems, specialized medical laboratory equipment, various respiratory therapy equipment and ventilators, highly specialized surgical systems, x-ray systems, or medical device security)
• CBET (Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician) or CLES (Certified Laboratory Equipment Specialist)
