The job of Teaching Assistant - STUDENTS ESL (Level
2) is done for the purpose of supporting adult ELL to achieve English proficiency. The position includes limited on-site supervision by a certified teacher serving as a district program coordinator. Duties include administering proficiency assessments, preparing individualized lessons, and using prescribed strategies learned in monthly training meetings.

• Administers English proficiency assessments to measure student progress.
• Assists students individually or in groups with lesson assignments to reinforce learning concepts.
• Implements instructional programs and lesson plans to reinforce learning concepts.
• Participates in meetings and professional workshops to convey and receive instructional information.
• Prepares lessons and materials to provide individualized instruction for assigned students.
• Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

• Age 16+
• High school diploma or equivalent.
