The Nutrition Services Worker supports food service activities at the assigned location, preparing and serving food items to students and/or school personnel and maintaining safe and sanitary facilities.

• Arranges food and beverage items at the request and direction of supervisors for efficient service.
• Attends unit meetings, in-service training, workshops, etc. to gather information required to perform job functions.
• Cleans utensils, equipment, and storage, food preparation and serving areas for maintaining required sanitary conditions.
• Cook food to meet mandated nutritional and projected meal requirements.
• Estimates food preparation amounts and adjusts recipes as needed to meet projected meal requirements and minimize waste.
• Inspects food items and supplies to verify quantity, quality and specifications and comply with mandated health standards.
• Inventory food, condiments, supplies and equipment at specified intervals to ensure availability of items required for meeting projected menu requirements.
• Maintain equipment, storage, food preparation and serving areas in a sanitary condition to comply with current health standards.
• Monitors kitchen and cafeteria areas to ensure a safe and sanitary working environment.
• Performs functions of other nutritional services positions as requested by supervisor to ensure adequate staff coverage within site nutritional services operations.
• Prepare food and beverage items (e.g., breakfast and lunch) to meet mandated nutritional and projected meal requirements.
• Report equipment malfunctions to notify supervisor of the need for repair and/or replacement.
• Serve one or more items of food to meet mandated nutritional requirements and/or requests of students and school personnel.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

• Age 16+
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Job‑related experience desired.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and push/pull up to 150 lbs repeatedly throughout a work day.
