The Staff Satellite Electrical Engineer for Mixed Signal Circuits will participate in all aspects of the development and test of avionics hardware for E‑Space satellites. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience in electrical hardware design, including schematic capture, PCB layout, and testing. This position will report to the Director of Electrical Engineering and will work closely with the Electrical, Software, and Systems Engineering teams.

The successful candidate will be based in our Saratoga, CA office.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Own mixed‑signal PCBA development from clean sheet to flight.
  • Develop PCBA requirements, architectures, and con‑ops in collaboration with other engineering disciplines.
  • Schematic capture and PCB layout of complex power, digital, and analog circuit PCBA using Altium Designer.
  • Circuit analysis including power, signal integrity, SWaP, tolerance, and reliability related.
  • PCBA design verification testing, qualification testing, and system integration testing.
  • Lead design reviews for inter‑disciplinary audiences.
  • Manufacturing and flight support as needed.

What you bring to this role:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of experience in power, digital, and analog electronics design including schematic capture, PCB layout, and testing.
  • Design proficiency with voltage regulators, FPGAs, SoCs, high‑speed data interfaces, precision analog instrumentation, clocking, etc.
  • Skilled at schematic capture and layout of complex PCBs.
  • Skilled at performing circuit simulations and analysis in spice, Excel, and other tools for analog behavior, signal integrity, size/mass, power, etc.
  • Proficiency with basic electronic lab equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators, soldering iron, etc.
  • Demonstrated success working in a dynamic environment.

Bonus points for the following:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience designing for space environments including radiation impacts and mitigation.
  • Familiarity with Altium Designer.
  • RF and transmission line design and simulation skills.
  • Experience designing rigid‑flex PCBs and general electro‑mechanical design familiarity.
  • FPGA design skills.
  • Scripting skills in Python, Tcl, etc.

This is a full‑time, exempt position based out of our Saratoga office. The target base pay for this position is $120,000 - $200,000 annually. The total compensation package will be determined by various factors such as your relevant job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
