Position Summary:
The Director of Marketing & Communications is responsible for providing broad direction and management of the school’s comprehensive, integrated marketing program that supports the vision, mission, core values, and strategic goals of Saint Andrew’s Episcopal School. The program focuses on the school's competitive positioning in the marketplace through coordinated brand management, increased visibility and awareness, and enhancements to its image and reputation.
The Director manages the website, social media platforms, e-communications, and plans, designs, produces, and distributes all print and electronic materials and media that support the school's marketing communication needs.
Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer. Full‑Time, Exempt, On‑Site. Compensation: $130,000 – $150,000 annually.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the steward of the school’s brand, ensuring all visual identity, messaging, and storytelling are consistent, compelling, and mission‑aligned across all platforms.
- Lead and execute an integrated marketing and communications strategy that supports institutional priorities, enrollment growth, fundraising, and community engagement.
- Work closely with the Admissions and Development teams to plan and deliver strategic marketing initiatives that advance annual and long‑term school goals.
- Oversee and edit all forward‑facing communications to the school community, including newsletters, emails, website content, social media, programs, print materials, and campaign messaging.
- Produce and manage the school’s weekly newsletter and major written communications, ensuring clarity, tone, and alignment with brand standards.
- Serve as chief editor and project manager for the school’s annual magazine, overseeing editorial direction, writing, photography, graphic design, and print production.
- Manage the school’s website (Finalsite), including content updates, calendars, photography, and ongoing optimization to maximize engagement and usability.
- Oversee social media strategy and scheduling, ensuring consistent voice, visual quality, and effective storytelling across platforms.
- Lead creative content production, including photography and videography—writing scripts, coordinating talent, directing shoots, and overseeing editing to produce high‑quality visual assets.
- Manage and coordinate external vendors, including photographers, videographers, printers, and a contracted graphic designer, ensuring timelines, quality, and budget alignment.
- Supervise the Marketing Associate, providing guidance, feedback, and project oversight.
- Develop, manage, and monitor marketing and advertising budgets, ensuring cost‑effective use of resources.
- Maintain a school‑wide communications calendar to ensure strategic timing, consistency, and impact of all messaging.
- Conduct and apply market research as appropriate to inform strategy and decision‑making.
- Order and manage all school‑branded merchandise and swag for departments and promotion.
- Support, promote, and attend key school events such as Open Houses, community events, and the Spring Gala, capturing content and ensuring strong promotional support.
- Stay current with best practices and trends in marketing, communications, and independent school advancement.
